ISLAMIC, Umayyad Caliphate. temp. 'Abd al-Malik ibn Marwan, AH 65-86 / AD 685-705. Pashiz (Bronze, 23 mm, 2.47 g, 2 h), Arab-Sasanian type, citing Mansur, ST (Stakhr), without date, circa AH 80-86 = circa AD 700-705. Draped bust resembling Khosrau II to right, wearing elaborate mural crown; to left, 'al-Izzat lillah ('the Glory is to God' in Kufic); to right, 'Mansur' (in Kufic). Rev. 'Excellent, ... God and victory to Mansur' (possible reading of the Pahlawi legend in five lines). Album C42, Gyselen 24. Extremely rare. Somewhat rough, otherwise, good fine.
